MIT K-12 Outreach Program // Tech Tutors

Hi Librarians!

The Media Lab is running a mentorship program for 4-8 grade students and we are looking to recruit participants! The goal is to help those who may be having a particularly hard time during the pandemic by offering mentorship and fun STEAM activities.

Tech Tutors will check in with their students (virtually) each week to encourage them in their school learning and engage them in creative STEAM activities. This may include working together on anything from a simple coding project to discussing the math behind baseball stats. The program includes a 2-hour commitment each week and will run from early March through mid May. An adult should be within earshot for all sessions.

Tech Tutors hope to lend a little extra support to students who may be struggling and to engage students who may be having a hard time learning at a distance.

Please share this opportunity with families you think may be interested in participating (or sign your own student up)! Families interested in enrolling their student(s) (grades 4-8) in this virtual mentorship program may apply here.
