Making for Educators at the Library

Hi all, I want to invite anyone in the Southern California area on April 19 to the Long Beach Public Library for a free professional development event. All are welcome!

LBPL announces that registration is now open for our upcoming SEED Creativity Lab professional development event.

Mark your calendars for “Design Thinking as a Pathway to Engaging and Enriching Programming” on April 19, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, at the beautiful Billie Jean King Main Library in Long Beach, California.

We are delighted to welcome an inspiring maker educator, Aaron Vanderwerff of the San Francisco Bay Area, who will lead us in a fun and engaging session. This is a perfect chance for library professionals and educators to connect, share ideas, and spark their creativity!

Here’s a sneak peek of what we’ll dig into:

  • Get ready for a fun introduction to the Design Thinking process as a strategic planning tool, complete with engaging activities that showcase Design Thinking in action!

  • You’ll come away with an understanding of how to implement these creative processes in any setting

  • Networking opportunities to connect with fellow professionals and foster fruitful collaborations.

We look forward to an inspiring day together and hope you’ll join us! Registration is required, and seats are limited. Lunch will be provided :sandwich:.
