Poems for the places we grew up in

Early July, PLIX connected with Margaret Sullivan Studio, to share our work and play together. We connected on creativity, community, and our love for libraries. Here are some poems from the talented team to inspire you!

Loren grew up in Philadelphia and tapped into a unique place

around their village, unionccl(?) by human connection

years spent at Oxford, traveling down in German towns
now wilting away in the abundance of their lives

Sampriti grew up in Mumbai and noticed that many streets were named after Indian deities.

Only then do I realize home is spiritual ever present
I remember my mom singing every morning — names of gods surrounding
Far away from my home
I am reminded of beautiful trees, bustling streets
