Sorry for the very belated response, but I finally found the badges I had from my childhood summer camp I was talking about at the November data gems workshop! Basically, youâd earn beads for different activities or tasks --there were special beads like hearts or stars, glow in the dark, or glitter too! They used lanyard hooks to attach plastic lacing to the metal pin buttons --I always attached mine to the little âcircleâ the pin backing made so my beads wouldnât accidently fall off. To add new beads, youâd slip the lacing off the hook, string the bead over the lacing, then clip it back onto the hook.
Hope this helps spark some ideas for people brainstorming for Summer Reading Program! I can easily see a button that says Summer Reading Program or a library name/logo on it.
